Feeling Tropical: Part 1

This is just the beginning of my "Feeling Tropical" posts. My best friend and I bought hawaiian shirts at a thrift store a few weeks ago and thought they were the coolest things ever. She wore her's somewhere at Lake Tahoe and got absolutely no reactions, which I don't understand, cause I think they're fab. I intend on posting pics of my tropical shirt soon! In the mean time I've come up with a "Tropics Vibes" playlist. Enjoy! xx

Endless Blue - The Horrors
Avalon - Roxy Music
Boyfriend - Best Coast
Lovers Lane - Hunx & His Punx
Half Full Glass of Wine - Tame Imapla
Just Like Honey - The Jesus and Mary Chain
Soft As Snow (But Warm Inside) - My Bloody Valentine

You know what I like?

Or actually what I adore? Photographs that people take of themselves in front of mirrors. I mean, aren't they fun? "The mirror pic," they're just so goofy and they always make me think of days when everyone was on Myspace (getting all nostalgic here!) Also, I love it when you catch a celeb doing it. It makes them seem so normal... Well kinda... Anyway, these are some of my favorites.

Courtney and Kirk
Ringo Starr

Paul McCartney (It's not obvious I like The Beatles or anything)
Alexa Chung

I thought there were more, but still these are good for now.

And this is NOT famous me! (finally posting a pic of myself!!)
See? So much fun!

J.W. Anderson Appreciation Post

First off I just want to say I do intend on posting my own pictures of myself in my own outfits showing off my personal style, but for the moment can we just admire how wonderful J.W. Anderson is?

And I think I should point out that his menswear collection is equally as fabulous. I feel spoiled for choice when it comes to J.W. Anderson.

I also think we should listen to some Rihanna. She's so fab.
I'm mean, her periwinkle angora sweater! FAB. WANT.

90's Vibes Forevaaa

Lately, or for a while now, the '90s has been considered "well back" within the hearts of many young fashion savvy fiends. Hipsters, (referring to myself of course) thrive on the nostalgia of the '90s. And oh man do I thrive on it!! In my eyes everything was better in the '90s from Kate Moss to the Spice Girls it was best time to be an angsty teen or in my case an angsty 7 year old. Above all the high fashion of the 90's was to die for. The colors and eclectic-ness of it all is what I love most.

Baby Kate Moss. Always ace.
The sweater! The leggings! Vogue! 90's!
Anna Wintour. Damn.
The era of Tyra and Cindy.

More Kate Moss.

Gianni Versace 90's monochromatics. What's not to like?

So when I saw Christopher Kane's fall 2011 collection my jaw dropped. I fell head over heals for the crochet patterned sweaters, and the skirts, and the leather omg! It was just all divine, a new twist on the revival 90's fashion. The 90's meets outer space sort of vibes.

And so it goes...

Alas, I've decided to create a proper blog. I'm ready to join the big kids and create a blog that is a bit more coherent than my tumblr. I love my tumblr and always will, but it's time to get serious with the blogging world. I figured that starting a blogspot would force me to put more thought into my posts, compared to just reblogging or liking a picture on tumblr without really saying why it's so mind blowing to me. Anyway I'll be posting mostly about fashion, music, and culture along with my interpretations of it all. So let the professionalism of the blogging world commence!
